The pros and cons of this Brother SE600 Embroidery machine:

Pros:

  • impressive software with the data transfer and colour screen
  • lots of tools and designs for new users to play around with
  • the potential for different types of project

Cons:

  • a small 4 by 4 inch working area
  • some disappointment with the cost.

The main talking point in the user reviews for this Brother SE600 Computerised Sewing Machine is the quality of the software.

This is a nice surprise for many users as there are often issues and connectivity problems with these computerised machines. The latter certainly isn’t an issue here as there is an usb port for memory sticks, rather than a direct connection to the computer.

This allows users to upload plenty of different designs and ideas. These images are then viewable via the 3.2 inch colour screen. This colour screen means that users are better able to see the design as it will appear on the material. The console also allows for editing and previews to make things even easier.

Other benefits with this Brother embroidery machine comes from the different accessories that come in the box. This helps to diversify the functions of the machine. This is predominantly a sewing and embroidery machine, but there is also the potential for quilting and other disciplines.

Some people like to use different fabrics, and this Brother SE-600 machine should handle anything up to the thickness of denim. There are 7 different feet, a series of bobbins and tools and the foot controller.

The software and potential for projects with this Brother SE600 Sewing and Embroidery machine is great, but there are some downsides to the hardware and cost.

The most notable issue with this sewing machine is the size of the work area. There is a free arm that allows for sleeves and cuffs, but the working area of the machine is pretty small. It can only hold embroidery hoops of 4 by 4 inches.

This can be a little limiting for some people, especially those that do want to work on larger projects and quilts. The other concern here is the cost. Brother machines are never the cheapest around, but some wonder what makes this one stand out against the competition to warrant a higher price tag.

How does this issue affect the final recommendation for this Brother SE600 Embroidery machine?

There are some downside and limitations when using this machine. There will be some that feel that they don’t have free reign with their projects because of the small working area and hoop. Still, the software of this machine really is a step up from older Brother machines, and those from some competitors.

The clear colour screen and USB transfer make a big difference. In the end, there are still plenty of people having a lot of fun with this Brother embroidery machine and learning new skills.
